Spending time consciously thinking about what fulfills me was one of the most insightful exercises I’ve done this year. I now have a good understanding of what constitutes fulfilment for me. It’s harder to optimize for ‘fulfilment’ but easier to optimise for the various components. Said another way, I feel like I now know the recipe for making this dish called fulfilment.
Week #29 – Action
“Pour the bulk of your time into action, not deciding. The state of indecision is a major time-waster. Don’t spend more than 60 seconds in that state if you can avoid it. Make a firm, immediate decision, and move from uncertainty to certainty to action. Let the world tell you when you’re wrong, and you’ll soon build enough experience to make accurate intelligent decisions.”
Steve Pavlina
This quote by Steve says it all. This week, I’d like to spend as much time as possible doing rather than deciding or thinking. Whenever I need to make a decision, I’ll do it within a minute and roll right into the action part of it. I’ll start my day by reading the above-mentioned quote to remind myself of what’s the focus for the week. I think just having this focus will enable me to take a lot more action than I usually do. I’m curious to see where I’ll land up by the end of the week.
