Week #21 & 22 – Commitment & Appreciation

It was an intense week but in a good way. I did a work marathon with friends and it helped me complete the most important task on the list I’d prepared at the beginning which was to publish at least one low-content book (I published two). I also got a bunch of other tasks done such as buying health insurance, creating the outlines for the cookbook and an ebook, and keeping up with the volunteering activities.

I was disappointed for not completing every task on my list because that was what I’d promised myself. One of the reasons for that was that my volunteering activities increased and I ended up spending a lot more time than I’d budgeted for that. A part of me feels like I should have accounted for such extraneous circumstances intervening.

I got more done than usual, though. I also understood that I should learn to scope my week well so that I can become better at predicting how much I can accomplish. Planning seems like an important aspect of commitment.

Week #22 – Appreciation

I’ve been focusing on appreciation this week. Every morning, I write down a few things I appreciate in my life. I also reach out to one person and express my appreciation for them. It’s been a wonderful experience. I love how open my heart has been this week. Interestingly, others have been more open, loving, and communicative with me as well which has felt wonderful. Who knows, maybe appreciation has a way of radiating out and attracting similar energy back to itself.

Value for Week #23 – Expansion

There’s no limit possible to the expansion of each one of us. ” – Charles M. Schwab

I’m participating in Tony Robbins’ Unleash the Power Within event starting tomorrow. Since I won’t have much time over the next few days, I decided to pick my value for next week, which starts on Friday, today itself. I’m going with expansion as the value because I think it ties in well with the theme of the event. My intention is to keep myself open to expansion throughout the week, in whatever shape or form that might present itself.
