Yesterday, my father (who doesn’t live with us), tested positive for Covid. That came as a bit of a shock. Plus it sent us into panic mode because he had visited us here at my grandparent’s place just three days ago. My mother and grandparents got tested this morning and the results were negative. Thank goodness.
I live next to a hospital and seeing or hearing about deaths due to Coronavirus has become commonplace. It keeps the pandemic real for me and my family.
I know that at the end of the day, there’s only so much you can do to keep the virus at bay. Irrespective of how careful you are, it might still find you. But if you aren’t doing all that you can to be safe, then you just make it easier for the virus to infect you. There’s no evidence that people get immune to it, so if you get it once, it doesn’t guarantee that you won’t get it another time. It’s on you to be careful – for both yourself and all those others you could potentially infect if you’re irresponsible.
Coronavirus is still very real. Don’t let the fact that it’s lasted for so long lull, bore, or frustrate you into being irresponsible. There are lives at stake and this is the sneakiest killer we’ve had in our midst in ages. Please, be safe. For yourself, your family, and the rest of the world.
